Sapporo Suwa Shrine
Hanatatemizu, which can be seen continuously from spring to fall, is a popular photo spot. Red seals with seasonal designs are also available!
The shrine was originally built in 1882 by Tadashi Ueshima of Shinano, who moved to this area and began cultivating land, and dedicated the spirit of the Suwa Shrine in his hometown to a small shrine he erected in his mansion. The shrine also offers red seals with embroidered or cutout designs that match the season each month. In addition, the “Hana-Temizu” (flower water ceremony), in which flowers float in a chozubachi (water bowl), is held continuously from spring to fall, and is a popular photo spot due to the beauty of the colorful umbrellas and lanterns that add even more color to the scene.
