Kobayashi Sake Brewery Buildings
Explore Hokkaido’s First Sake Brewery
This brewery dates back to the days when sake first began being brewed in the cold North. In fact, it is the oldest brewery in Hokkaido dating back to 1878, and thirteen of its warehouses and buildings have been designated National Cultural Properties. Today’s brewers have honed these time-honored techniques to create limited-edition sake that is available seasonally in the shop. Make sure to visit the museum to find out about the first sake brewers, their work, and their way of life. Then, relax in the atmosphere of the brewery’s restaurants, or “Kinsuian” for hand-made soba.
