Omagari Kohanenchi
Omagari Kohanenchi is indeed a beautiful place to visit. It was refurbished from the former farmland of Abashiri Prison into a tourist farm in 2005. The park is known for its sunflower fields, which bloom twice a year. The first bloom occurs from mid to late July with about 1.5 million sunflowers, and the second bloom happens from mid-September to late September with approximately 2.6 million sunflowers across an 18-hectare site.
In addition to the sunflowers, the cosmos field also blooms, providing visitors with the opportunity to enjoy two flower fields at the same time. The wooden observatory in the park offers a great vantage point to overlook the vast expanse of the Omagari Kohanenchi. It's a wonderful place to experience the beauty of nature.
