Cape Kiritappu
A romantic cape with beautiful reefs leading to the sea
Kiritappu Cape is located on the eastern side of the Kiritappu Peninsula at an elevation of 40 to 60 meters, jutting out into the rough waters of the Pacific Ocean. Its official name is Tobutsu Misaki (湯沸岬), and it is also called Tokkari Misaki (トッカリ岬) because tokkkari (seals) can be seen here. From the observatory, you can see Hogake Iwa with seals 3 km away, and the cliffs and coastline of Pomporoto and Moraito over Hamanaka Bay. Cape Yubu Cape Lighthouse, which stands at the tip of the cape, was recognized as Hokkaido's first “Lighthouse in Love” on September 30, 2016, the first year of the “Lighthouse in Love Project” conducted by the Japan Romantic Association and the Nippon Foundation.
