Daisetsuzan Sounkyo Kurodake Ropeway
A 7-minute aerial walk to the fifth station of Kurodake (Mt. Kurodake) in the Daisetsuzan mountain range. Feel the wind and get to the seventh station in 15 minutes by lift.
The ropeway connects the Sounkyo hot spring resort area to the 1984m Kurodake fifth station (1,300m above sea level). Kurodake is full of seasonal attractions such as fresh greenery and Chishimazakura cherry blossoms in spring, alpine plants and animal encounters in summer, colored leaves and mountain climbing in fall, and skiing and snowshoeing in winter.
