Wakkarium’s Noshappu Aquarium
See Some Cute Seals at Japan’s Northernmost Aquarium
Built in 1968 as Japan’s northernmost aquarium. Boasts over 1,300 animals of 120 different species, primarily from the boreal ecosystem. The 90-ton aquarium contains the very rare Japanese huchen amongst other fish, including the jacopever, flounder, Atka mackerel, Bering wolffish, and more. The seal show, in which you can watch seals being fed, etc. (only in summer), is very popular.
