Furano Jam Garden / Rokugou Observatory
They all look delicious! A lot of jams make my heart skip a beat. There is also a spectacular view from the observatory where you can enjoy the lavender.
Using fresh vegetables and fruits as ingredients, they produce and sell delicious and healthy additive-free jams. There are 38 kinds of jams, including mountain grape, hazelnut, and rhubarb (butterbur), and most of them can be freely tasted. At the “Jam Making Workshop,” visitors can learn how to make jam, a secret of the jam aunts. You can take home your own original hand-painted label, making it a perfect way to create memories. On the first floor is a store selling Anpanman goods, and on the second floor are on display reproductions of paintings by Takashi Yanase, giclée prints, and celluloid pictures used in the production of the animated cartoon. Stone statues of Anpanman's friends line the front of the store, and families can enjoy themselves to their heart's content.
The observatory is located on the grounds of Furano Jam Garden. You can look out over the entire Furogo area, which was the setting for the TV drama “Kita no Kuni Kara” (From the North). Surrounded by the magnificent nature typical of Hokkaido, the view from the observatory is so beautiful that it was selected as one of the “100 Scenic Spots. Around the observatory, flower fields spread out, and lavender, poppies, sunflowers, peonies, nanohana, cosmos, and other colorful flowers are in full bloom each season.
