Seseki hot spring
Seseki hot spring is a onsen located on the rocky shore of Seseki, on the Rausu side of the Shiretoko Peninsula, along the coast of the Nemuro Strait. This wild open-air bath appears at low tide and is submerged by the sea at high tide. The name "Seseki" is said to be derived from the Ainu word "sesek," meaning "hot" or "to become hot." Bathing while gazing at the vast ocean in front of you gives the feeling of being in a hot spring in the sea. The bathing period is from early July to late September. There are no changing rooms, privacy screens, or streetlights. The bath is managed by the people at the kelp hut in front of the open-air bath, so please greet them and follow the etiquette before bathing.
