Comey Ski Rinks, located 30 minutes by car from the center of Asahikawa City, is a great place to enjoy real skiing in fresh snow. Mr. Yuichiro Miura, a legendary Japanese skier who became the world's oldest person to reach the summit of Mount Everest after climbing the mountain for the third time at the age of 80. The ski school run by Mr. Miura is located in the Kamui Ski Rinks. The school offers comprehensive skiing and snowboarding lessons for beginners to backcountry skiing. Private tours are also available.
