This is the story of nine high school girls achieving their dream of being a "school idol" band. It is the second installment in the Love Live! series, a multimedia project centering on the theme of achieving a collective dream. The first season of the TV series (13 episodes) aired from July 2016, followed by another season (13 episodes) from October 2017 and a film in January 2019. The series has sparked a variety of initiatives, including promoting and sharing information about Numazu City in Shizuoka Prefecture, the main setting of the series.

Goryokaku Tower
Goryokaku Tower is one of Hakodate's most famous landmarks. The 90m high observation deck offers a view of the entire star-shape compound, and information panels walk you through Goryokaku Tower's role during the fall of the Shogunate, a story unlike almost any other in the world. In episode 8 of season 2, when Aqours leaves the Hakodate Arena, Goryokaku Tower is the first place they visit, and we see the members' reactions, such as Yo's fascination with the bronze statue of Hijikata Toshizo.
