School Meals Time: Road to Ikameshi (Oishii Kyushoku Road to Ikameshi)
Southern Hokkaido area

The School Meals Time series follows a junior high school teacher's zeal for school meals as he and his students pursue their "School Meal Road". The popular series includes three live-action TV series and three films. The third film, School Meals Time: Road to Ikameshi, is set in Hakodate. Junior high school teacher Yukio Amarida (Hayato Ichihara) takes a job in Hokkaido with the hope of enjoying a school lunch with ikameshi, a local specialty featuring simmered squid stuffed with rice. This sparks a fierce battle with student and culinary rival Ken Tsuburai (Taiki Tazawa). A school comedy that showcases all the great forms that school lunches can take.
