Mt. Usu Eruption Memorial Park
Located to the west of the Toyako hot spring village, this park was developed to commemorate the eruption of Mt. Usu in 2000. The park appears in a scene in the film, where one of the characters, Kaori, sits at the edge of Lake Toya and talks. Sculptures can be found throughout the park. Along with various works by local artists, you'll find Light of the Moon by Igor Mitoraj, a mask-like depiction of a human face. Take a stroll around the sculptures and admire their harmony with the nature around them.
