Hokkaido Seminar held at the Consul General in Frankfurt

Hokkaido Tourism Organization hosted a tourism seminar for tourism sectors in German on 31 January 2024 at the official residence of the Consul General in Frankfurt, Germany. At this seminar we have provided tourism contents and information on Hokkaido that would attract the German market so that the local tour operators could gain useful knowledge to develop Hokkaido tour products and to sell them to their clients.

The presentation by Hokkaido was consisted of the following five themes and included videos to introduce them.

1. Hokkaido’s unique culture and history
2. Hokkaido’s proud ingredients, local food, beer, wine and other alcoholic beverages
3. Activities such as cycling and hiking in the great outdoors
4. hot springs and spas
5. Sustainability in Hokkaido.

After the seminar, participants enjoyed a performance and meals by the sushi chef Mr. Sakai of THE SAKAI, a sushi restaurant in the 2023 MICHELIN Guide Germany, as well as Hokkaido’s alcoholic beverages.

Later on, some participants kindly sent us emails saying that it was good to learn about Hokkaido and get to know people from Hokkaido. They also mentioned the sushi offered by the SAKAI, saying it was wonderful.  The seminar was a great success, with 25 participants from 19 companies.
