NISEKO SHIRIBESHIDestinations
Abundant Water Resources and the Majestic Mountains that Support Them
The Shiribeshi region, which includes Niseko and Otaru, is located in the southwestern part of Hokkaido and is a rich natural area facing the sea, with mountains such as Mt. Yotei. In winter, snow falls daily around Mt. Yotei. Once the weather warms up and the snow melts, the melted snow seeps underground and becomes water used to support people’s daily lives and the production of rich agricultural products. Rivers swollen in early spring have a stronger current than usual, making rafting and other activities more enjoyable.
Enjoy the various hot springs within the jurisdiction to relieve travel fatigue, and savor seafood from the Sea of Japan and unique agricultural products from each locality to experience the allure of the area.
