Features of the Furano-Biei area
The Furano and Biei areas are located in the center of Hokkaido and are surrounded by forests in much of the surrounding area, including the Tokachidake mountain range and the Yubari Mountains. In particular Japan you can see the footprints of volcanic activity in the area certified as a Geopark, and rare alpine plants in the high-rise marshland, and you can experience the magnificent steps of nature. The hilly area is blessed with rich nature and exceptional scenery, such as patchwork landscapes created by people's activities, and it is an area where you can experience nature up close, cool in summer and cold in winter.

GREEN SEASON
In summer, you can feel the magnificent nature such as mountain climbing, river rafting, cycling, camping, etc., and become one with nature. When climbing, you can feel the volcanic pulse up close at Ansei Crater, which continues to emit plumes, as if it were the heartbeat of the earth. In cycling, you can enjoy the sounds of nature as background music in the beauty of the scenery that has become like a patchwork of hills formed by past volcanic activity.
WHITE SEASON
In winter, skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing allow you to fully enjoy the area’s unique powder snow. Skiing and snowboarding can be skied in the backcountry in addition to the ski slopes, wading through the snow in untouched nature. At the lake located in the south of the area, you can fish for wakasagi on the ice and enjoy the taste of the season while feeling the cold of winter.
