OVERVIEW

The Niseko area is widely known for its blessed nature. It is surrounded by beautiful mountains, rivers, and the nutritious soil that brings forth a promising harvest each year. Being aware of this, the town of Niseko is eager to protect its environment and was even nominated an “SDGs Future City” by the Japanese government. This cycle of receiving the blessing of nature and trying to protect it attracts new residents and drives the local community of Niseko to aim for a more sustainable way of life.

We welcome you to try out Niseko’s sustainable lifestyle for yourself! Meet Niseko’s residents and exchange thoughts about what makes for a sustainable life. Eat with us the seasonal food coming from the fields around the Niseko area. Float with a Canadian canoe on the Shiribetsu River, one of Japan’s clearest streams, and let Niseko’s nature sink into your body and mind.
