OVERVIEW
One of the largest natural parks in Japan where visitors can enjoy the great outdoors, “Domin no Mori” (Hokkaido People’s Forest) is located in the northern area of Tobetsu in Hokkaido, and covers approximately 12,000 hectares of untouched forests and mountains. You can enjoy the great nature unique to Hokkaido in a quiet, well-maintained forest with no people in about 1 hour and 40 minutes from the center of Sapporo.
The site is full of facilities in harmony with the magnificent scenery, fresh air, and forests with wild birds flying around. Mt. Kamuishiriyama is 946.7 m above sea level, and there are three courses where even beginners can enjoy the spectacular panoramic view from the top of the mountain and flower observation.
There is a BBQ plaza at the foot of Mt. Kamuishiriyama, where you can enjoy BBQ of local seasonal vegetables and Genghis Khan after climbing the mountain while interacting with Tobetsu locals. You can experience stargazing at night, forest hiking, and enjoy time in the forest and nature.
